  The Big Science Read

  Manchester Literature Festival, Manchester Science Festival, Jodrell Bank (University of Manchester) and Time to Read have joined forces to present a very special initiative: The Big Science Read. We invite you to explore, re-discover and get excited about science-themed books and hope to stimulate current debate of current issues relating to scientific and technological advances.   The Big Science Read will be launched at Jodrell Bank's literary weekend which will take place on 13th and 14th June 2008 and will feature award-winning space historian Piers Bizony and celebrated science fiction author Brian Aldiss.   The Big Science Read Vote: We are inviting you to vote for your favourite science-themed read - any book that you have found life-changing, inspirational or revelatory. The book can either be factual or fictional in genre as long as it explores the effects of science or technology as a core theme. The winner of the public vote will be announced at a special event later in the year. Voting will begin later this month at www.bigscienceread.org
