  Local author and journalist Phil Thornton has co-edited Merseyside's underground e-zine, Swine Magazine with John Connolly for over three years now. Every month, we've assembled articles on almost any subject from our regular team of contributors from around the country. Although there's a heavy Merseyside bias to many of the features, our iconoclastic, satirical and often cynical take on everything from politics to pop culture has struck a chord with many readers across the UK and abroad. This month's edition is typical of Swine's approach; taking swipes at targets such as Mercury Prize, La Machine, MI5 and credit crunch economics. With an extensive archive section and a SwineTV channel there's plenty for new readers to get their teeth into. We make no apologies, a lot of the material is likely to anger and even offend those of a nervous disposition but hopefully we will also give you the occasional laugh while we're at it.
